Champagne helps to marvel. Georges Sand
Champagne helps to marvel.
Located in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, our nearly 6-hectare estate opens its doors to you and invites you to discover exceptional landscapes and wines. Since 1948, men and women have succeeded each other to create unique wines, with a very specific taste, which have taken the time to age patiently in the shade of our cellars. Come and meet us, marvel at these magnificent landscapes that shape the affirmed character of our Champagnes.
The history of Maison Jackowiak begins after the war, with the grandfather, Wladislaw Jackowiak, a Polish officer who fought in the Second World War. It is in his honor that the bottles of Maison Jackowiak bear the emblematic eagle of this country.
Wladislaw Jackowiak experienced imprisonment in German camps, liberation in 1945, and fulfilled his responsibilities as an officer by supervising and overseeing German prisoners in France after the liberation. Unable to return to Poland due to the new regime and the risks it posed for former officers, he remained in France, where he met the love of his life, Marthe Rondeau.
Marthe was the daughter of a winemaker, and together they worked the vineyards and, in 1948 produced the first bottles of Champagne Jackowiak Rondeau, a blend of Polish and French preferences.
Since then, it has been from father to son that the know-how has been passed down in this family of winemakers, to preserve the particular taste of the first wines produced, so atypical in Champagne.
Jackowiak Rondeau Champagnes have an average age of 9 years, giving them a sweet, maderized taste, with notes of apples and a tempered flow of subtle fine bubbles.
Today, Maison Jackowiak operates almost 6 hectares in the Montagne de Reims territory and is committed to sustainable agriculture, having obtained the High Environmental Value (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture (VD) labels in Champagne and creating sulfite-free Champagnes.
It is David Jackowiak, grandson of Wladislaw, who perpetuates the family traditions and values of the House.
